Everything from their most advanced roles to how to order pens should be completely written out so they know exactly what they may do and what they need to know. Map out everything they could possibly be doing so that you can train them accordingly.

\nSimilarly, while in-person training is important, a manual will also ensure that any question they have gets answered \u2013 as well as tells you if more training is needed. If something is in the manual, the individual will be able to learn it on their own easily. If something is not in the manual, it needs to be added and the employee will get trained.
\n3. Assume No Knowledge<\/strong>
\nEveryone comes with a history of experience, but technology changes so rapidly that their experience may not even matter. It\u2019s best to create training programs that treat employees like blank slates, that way if the tasks they are going to complete have changed they will be able to learn them again.

\nMake sure everything is prepared up front for training. One of the key reasons that on-boarding is important is because employees that are thrown into their work without adequate training are more likely to have problems in the future, even if that training takes place. For example, they may not be confident in their work or they may not be treated correctly by their supervisors. It\u2019s best to make sure that you\u2019ve dedicated time to train the employee thoroughly from day one so that they\u2019re prepared for the rest of their time with your company.

Watch their productivity and their work in the beginning as well and make sure that they\u2019re showing they learned. Training is so important for success, and while you can develop an amazing training program there are always going to be ways to improve.
